2010 Acura TSX V-6 Sedan Review

Acura is coming up with a more powerful engine in its new model named 2010 Acura TSX V-6. It looks have been enhanced nicely. Earlier, Acura 2009 had good cabin technology, powerful engine, direct handling and economy. It was failed to impress with its complexity, confusing dashboard. Acura 2010 is coming with more powerful V-6 engine with 3.5 liter capacity. The main concern of Acura 2010 is its economy. Now a day, people favour environment-friendly car rather than cars with more powerful. We have to wait and see how Acura 2010 manages with its more power and less economical features.

Engine
The engine of the Acura 2010 was able to produce 280 horse power, 254 pound feet of torque and fuel economy of 18 city miles and 30 miles on highway, for a gallon of gasoline. In Acura 2009 case, it achieved 21 city miles and 30 miles on highway by consuming same amount of fuel; it produced horse power of 201 and 172 pound feet of torque. Ironically, we need to compromise 16% of the fuel to achieve 40% more power. Acura 2010 produces great 7000rpm for full power.

Acura 2010 has nice handling and good acceleration. You feel more confident, less strained and more effort less with the inclusion additional power of V6 engine. But, the single automatic transmission relinquishes V-6’s performance credibility, but it does add a good deal of refinement. Due to increased power, we expected it to exert more torque steer, but the gradual application of smooth shifts and power given by automatic torque converter, the V-6 seems to exert less torque steer than its manually operated  counterparts does.

Cabin
Acura 2010 as well have good Cabin technology which is full of features. The cabin has got latest Bluetooth connectivity for audio streaming and hands-free calling, DVD based Navigation system with live traffic and weather updates, USB-iPod connection, a good sounding system with ELS premium audio system, an optional satellite radio. You have to go through Acura’s AcuraLink interface to access these entire feature, it may appear little clumsy. Acura have not improvised its user interface to take the benefit of all the feature; too many buttons and confusing dashboard are bit disappointment. Voice recognition with phone would have been good idea here.

There are two voice commanding system for Bluetooth and navigation. There are two distinct buttons to access those. You can also access the contacts with voice controls over a Bluetooth by simply pushing the contacts to the Bluetooth. It comes with a very good music player with best audio clarity. You can choose and filter the song in large media library on connected to iPods and USB devices with the help of knob-based selection system. It also features Satellite Radio and Bluetooth audio streaming. It comes up with 10-speaker ELS audio system with Dolby Pro Logic II decoding. Audio system is simply marvelous.

Hood
Earlier 2.4 liter TSX was having six-speed manual transmission. Instead the TSX V-6 has replaced with only five speed automation. I.e. too low a gear in a sport mode and too high a gear in normal mode. It has been provided with steering wheels placed on shift paddles which facilitate easier handling. High quality sound deadening keeps road noise from being too much of an issue.

Power is exerted on front wheels through the transmission system. The TSX has the best handling FWD. Slight torque is generated enables faster start, the handling will become smooth once the Acura starts rolling. The Toss capable Acura changes the direction at the brush of the steering wheel and will be on its path unless you are in generous performance envelope. The riding of the Acura is cool, smooth, polite and tolerable. Suspension is not so good, you will experience hiccup on a bumpy road.

Final Word
The Acura TXT 2010 is powerful than ever with amazing 280 horse power. The acceleration, handling and comfort are very good. We get more power with the at the expense of the fuel economy. It would have been great if it comes with fantastic six-speed manual transmission instead of automatic four speed transmission. The Acura have comfortable cabin. ELS premium audio system, Bluetooth, USB-iPod connection and much more takes this car to a next level. But they are poorly managed and organized; Dashboard is bit complex and uneasy. Over all mixed thumbs for the Acura 2010. It will be priced around $40000.
