Buzz Cuts for Cancer
St. Baldrick’s Foundation collecting money for cancer research in children’s in this volunteers are shaving their head in solidarity with the cancer children’s. Family sponsors and friends shavers are donating that to the foundation.
History
On 2000 march 17 the reinsurance executives John Bender, Edna McDonnell and Tim Kenny turned in to work for cancer fighting benefits. In St. Patrick’s Day on the seventeenth they hoped to raise $17,000. They found that seventeen colleagues are willing to pay $1,000 per each. More than $104,000 raised the first event. According to the foundation now it is the world’s biggest volunteer-driven fund-raising that helps in the cancer childhood research.
Events
A civic organization or a business creates the events and supporters donate as sponsors and sign up to shaved. Through online also they can donate. The foundation provides all the materials needed to plan the events and for the personal coach they are providing volunteer. The shaving doing barbers should have license from the event state. At the St. Baldrick’s event more than 100,000 women and men did the head shaving in 2010.

$87 million raised by the twenty eight countries events in between 2010 to 2000. Donation found from this events is more than that the organization expected from the government in U.S. According to the foundation the amount which is collecting through this event for the research in childhood cancer is more. St. Baldrick’s is a member of People against Childhood Cancer, Alliance for Childhood Cancer, Childhood Cancer Charities Unite, scientific and medical organization and a forum of patient advocacy groups.
