fujifilm finepix FUJI FINEPIX J27 REVIEWThe Finepix camera has the dimensions 92.0 x 55.9 x 20.0 mm and weighs just 113gm, making it light and portable. The body of the camera has a neat, glittery finish which makes it look awesome. The neat finish of the camera acts as a magnet that attracts fingerprints. The smooth edges add elegance to the look of the camera. The camera is very compatible when compared to the other cameras available on the shops.

On its top is the shutter and the power button. The two buttons are positioned with the perfect spacing and hence makes its operation very comfortable in just one hand. As with its predecessors, the Finepix A and J series, this Fuji Finepix J27 has the familiar button layout behind. The two way zoom toggle button at the top follows the Back/Disp button as well as the Play button. Right below, there is a 4-way navigation console along with shortcuts to self timer, delete an image, macro mode and the flash configuration. At the console’s centre is the ok/menu button.

fuji FUJI FINEPIX J27 REVIEWThe Fujifilm camera has a CCD sensor that can take pictures of about 10.2 Mega pixel with 3x of optical zoom with ‘face detection’ feature. ‘Zoom’ option is not sensitive which results in blurred images. The zooming level is predetermined and cannot be altered, that is zoom in and zoom out are possible till the restricted levels, in contrast to the standard zoom found in all other cameras. Night mode results are also not good.

The camera has 16 preset shooting modes, including VGA video recording (640×480), anti-blur (stability of pictures) and as, mentioned earlier, face detection feature also. The Fuji J27 camera is best suited for point and shoot audience. The modes are simple and can be operated by any of us easily.

For the user’s convenience, SR Auto mode (auto scene recognition) is available which helps him in taking the best shot. This mode is self-activated and selects the best mode suitable for the shot, while sometimes its selection can be incorrect. The scenery shots look too good. The image is clear and the colors look vibrant and rich. The macro mode’s performance is indeed fantastic especially when shot in areas of bright light.

However, the camera is not capable of capturing the red color well. The shots look very dull and appear discolored with no view of the background or the object present in the shot. The fun-filled feature in the camera is the ‘Panorama’ mode. Its simple for usage and the results are good. It leaves a ghost image of the shot just captured before, for you to make some adjustments in the camera so as to not get any shadow or vision in the image that will be processed.

The ISO sensitivity of the camera starts from 100 and goes upto 3200 (3M). Its performance is reasonably good till ISO 400 but starts deteriorating from ISO 800 onwards. Two modes are available for taking shots at night times: Night and Night Tripod. The night mode snaps result in dull and unfocused images. The Night Tripod images are comparatively better and require a stationary surface to take a good shot.

The camera has its advantages in terms of Size and Portability, but does not impress people in its zooming options along with bad image quality in the night mode. The camera is priced at a reasonable price of Rs. 6999 MOP and Rs. 7999 MRP which can be bought for all its other features. Finally, the camera offering a 10.2 Mega pixel resolution with 3 times the optical zoom will attract the buyers who do not wish to spend a huge amount on a digital camera.
