Hiccups often bother the children in all places and this does not mean that adults are entirely safe from them. Hiccups get in the way of breathing, eating, speaking and drinking.

Luckily, there is no necessity to suffer from it as there are numerous effective home remedies that can be used to cure hiccups in both adults and children.

Some of the basic things which are very much necessary and easily available at home to treat hiccups are- Chamomile tea and Sugar.

Consume a teaspoon full of sugar. This therapy is been in practice since mid of 20th century and was the most commonly used to get rid of hiccups in children. The reason behind the concept of sugar curing hiccups is not yet known, but it really work.

Clasp your breath and put pressure on the inside of your diaphragm. The more the period you can keep down your diaphragm with the aid of your muscles, the more opportunity you get to stop the hiccups.
