Conceiving a child is a very big decision a couple should take. Thorough thinking of pros and cons and what all situations may arise, should be calculated before bringing a life into this world. Here are some of the preventive measures from conceiving a child. If someone feels that she is too young to take all these responsibilities then here are some tips to avoid conceiving. Below are some steps given to control birth.

1. Using a form of birth control:

a. The Depo Provera Shot – This is in common known as DMPA shot which is an injection. Here progestin is made up of same hormones found in all birth control pills. By taking this, the ovulation stops and the cervical mucus thicken up. This shot must be taken every 12 weeks to maintain its effectiveness.

b. The Pill - These are most commonly used for birth control. These pills are effective as well as safe for the body. Pills are made up of synthetic hormones which naturally transpire in the body of women. These pills halt the trigger of ovulation. Eggs are not produced when these pills are taken and thus results in the person not getting pregnant. These pills have to be taken daily to uphold the level of hormones to avoid ovulation.

c. The NuvaRing - This is a tiny ring shaped structure which is 2inches in diameter. This ring is placed in the vagina of woman once in a month for a period of 3 weeks. This ring will be removed for the remaining week in a month. This ring also thickens the mucus of cervical like other forms of birth control and also circumvents the eggs from parting the ovaries. Care has to taken while placing the ring because it can shift to other wrong place which leads to some other major problems.

d. Mirena IUD – This is a T shaped flexible plastic piece which is put into the uterus of a woman by physician. This Mirena IUD has a string which hangs out from the uterus to vagina making use that it is in right place. This device frees the progestin into the system. Thickening of cervical mucus takes place to avert the reaching of sperm to uterus. This kind of birth control lasts for 5yrs.

2. Using a Condom:

Condoms are usually used as the birth control device. This is 99 percent effective in avoiding pregnancy and also some STDs. Condoms with spermicide is preferred. Condom should fit into accurately not being too small or too large.

3. Using Diaphragms:

This diaphragm is made up of silicone or latex and it is a cup of dome shaped which is positioned firmly in vagina. When this diaphragm is once placed in vagina it acts like a wall to the entrance of the cervix. Diaphragm should be covered in a spermicidal jelly before inserting it. This should be put before sex and should be left there itself for 8hrs after ejaculation. Diaphragm sizes vary a lot, so a perfect one should be fitted in always which will be diagnosed by the doctor.

4. Using the Sponge:

This is a sponge which is made up of plastic foam containing spermicide. This sponge measures 2inches in diameter. Sponge is positioned deep into the vagina before having sex and the same is pulled out after having sex with the help of a nylon loop attached to this sponge. This birth control device is for virgins.

Finally the only assured way to not become a pregnant is to not have sex. Thus, abstinence is the final way to ensure 100 percent birth control.
