Samsung S5620 Monte Preview

Samsung is planning to unveil Samsung S5620 Monte Smartphone in Q2 of this year and is targeted at the mid-range segment.  Samsung S5620 Monte looks very pretty and good looking at its first gulp. The Monte comes up with innovative TouchWiz User Interface and impressive touch screen. Though the specifications are not yet revealed officially, but first details of the mobile are available. The Monte is expected to possess a 3-inch capacitive touch screen, 3 megapixel camera, 3G with HSDPA support, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, 200MB of internal memory, a microUSB port and microSD slot. We have to wait for some more time, to get to know the details and functionality of the Monte.

Design

Looking at the first photos of the Monte, it looks neatly designed. Both the top and bottom edges looks curved and rounded. No details available regarding its dimensions. It is expected to come with 3 inch TFT Capacitive touch screen, which offers resolution of 240 x 400 pixels and supports 256000 colours. Since it has built-in accelerometer, auto portrait and landscape rotation is possible. We are not sure about its sun screen legibility. It also equipped with proximity sensors and smart unlock options.

It will be operated on Samsung’s own operating system called TouchWiz. TouchWiz has performed very well on other Samsung phones. And it is expected to do better here also. It may offer full Querty on screen keyboard. Below the screen, there are three large buttons which enhances user interface. Rest will be controlled with touch input. At the top of the handset, a microUSB port and a standard 3.5mm head jack has been provided. A microSD card slot is present on the right side and volume rocker on the left. A well equipped camera is present on the back side of the mobile.

Specifications

The Monte will come with good internal memory of 200MB. You can extend microSD (TransFlash) external memory up to 16GB. You can store detailed contacts up to 1000. It is expected to support Wi-Fi (802.11g), Quad band GSM/GPRS, 3G(HSDPA 3.6 Mbps), EDGE (Class 10, 236.8 kbps), Bluetooth with A2D feature and USB. It will be supposed to have good GPS support with A-GPS support and preloaded with Google Map software; MAP navigation will be much easier. It is expected to possess decent web browser, which supports WAP 2.0/xHTML, HTML. It is preloaded with few Java games and you can download more java games if u wants to. It is nicely integrate to Social Websites with live updates such as Facebook, Orkut, Twitter, MySpace and dedicated path to Youtube as well.

The Monte will have good  multimedia player, which supports almost all audio formats like MP3,WAV,eAAC+ and as well as MP4,DivX,XviD,H.263,AVI,3GP video formats. You can hear the audio in both head phone or in loud speaker. Speakers have advanced feature called DNSe (Digital Natural Sound Engine), which will enhance the sound quality.  It offers FM radio with RDS feature. It supports usual messaging features like SMS, MMS, Email, Push Email and Palringo IM. Apart from these, it will also features others applications like Document and PDF viewer, organizer, Alarm, Calendar, To-Do / Tasks, Calculator, Image editor, Voice memo and much more.

The Monte will have 3-megapixel camera, provides resolution of 2048×1536 pixels. It may feature advanced camera features like Autofocus, Geo-tagging, face detection, image stabilization and manual focus. You can shoot the QVGA video at the rate of 30 frames per second. The Monte will have Lithium-Ion (960 mAh) powered battery. No details available regarding battery life.

Final Word

Samsung Monte is pretty impressive with its design. It will have Samsung’s innovative UI called TouchWiz. It is targeted midrange mobiles. Samsung is offering most of the higher end mobile. As this is mid range mobile, quality of the features staggers. It will have features like 3 megapixel camera, good connective features, GPS, EDGE and many more. It is expected to release in Q2 of 2010.
