Treatment for clear cell cancer

Clear cell cancer is a very rear cancer that is mostly seined in women. The clear cell cancer is also known as clear cell adenocarcinoma. The name is given because of seeing the appearance. Under the microscope it appears very clearly that’s why it is called as clear cell cancer. It has seined in post-menopausal woman. It will appear in the vagina or cervix. This type cancer noticed in 1970. First it saw in some woman’s. The woman’s they had been used the drug in this type of woman there is chance of getting this type of cancer. There are several treatments for this cancer but this will depend on the places where it appears.

DES

Estrogen is a female hormone. DES is the artificial form of this estrogen. In 1938 it was advised for the pregnant woman’s. But in 1971 it is used for to avoid the complication of pregnancy due to miscarriage. In 1971 National cancer institute states that by the use of this DES in the pregnancy stage the daughter will get the clear cell cancer. In 1971 an original example proved this.

Symptom and diagnosis

For this disease there is a number of symptoms. But the most important one is bleeding in vaginal. The continual discharge and the pain are the symptoms of the clear cell cancer. But the entire woman’s won’t get these all symptoms. The woman will cause the clear cell cancer due to DES it will appear in between 15 to 25 year. Some woman’s diagnosed in 30 to 40 years.

Treatment

The common treatment for the clear cell cancer is the surgical removal of the uterus. If it is affected to vagina then want to remove part or full of this depending upon how much it spread. The method for this is removal of pelvic lymph nodes. According to the National cancer institute it will spread in to the ovaries. For this radiation treatment is using after the surgery. Some times this internal and the external treatment will be curing the disease. Chemotherapy is another method is useful for the treatment.

Side effects

The first treatment for this cancer is the surgery, after this surly some side effects will happen. If the patient is having sugar problem then the wound won’t be cure. In surgery we will remove the uterus as result the woman won’t get a chance of pregnancy that means she can’t produce a child. The removal of lymph will produce swelling of the leg. Depending on how much vagina removed from the body the vaginal reconstructive surgery will depends. After the removal of this vagina there are a lot of problems they are bladder incontinence, vaginal sensation and vaginal pain. Radiation treatment will cause the falling of hairs. And it will cause vaginal dysfunction. The main problem is that long term bowel complication.

Ongoing care

The clear cell cancer has tendency resist all the bad conditions. That is the survival rate of this cancer cell is high. According to the study of National institute, they are saying that after 10 year diagnosis, the clear cell cancer cell has a 87% survival rate. Rarely recurrence of the cancer cells are happening so after the treatment also you should very care about it. Do check up in all the 3 to 6 months. This should be continuing up to 5 years after the treatment or after the radiation. There a few cases repotted that some peoples got complete cure after this treatment.
