Volkswagen Beetle Review
The German company has released the “Volkswagen Beetle” which is one of the most progressive models that has been released into the market. The car is most likely to be launched in India from the Mexican plant in December 2009. There are six models in total of the Volkswagen cars. They are Beetle- Blush edition PZEV Convertible, Beetle-S PZEV, Beetle-S PZEV Convertible, Beetle-S, Beetle-S Convertible and Beetle-Blush edition Convertible.
The car has a fuel tank that can store 55 liters at an average. It gives a mileage of 8.5KMPL in the city and about 12KMPL in highways. The price of VB starts from $18,290 and can go upto $26,990 which depends which model you choose. It has a 2.5L, 150HP I5 engine and has a horsepower of 150 at 5,000 rpm which is the maximum possible. The car has a torque of 230Nm at 3750RPM which is its best.
You can find five speed transmissions which are manual and six speed transmissions which are automatic, which is again dependent on the model that you select. An optional facility of sunroof is available for the models, Beetle-S PZEV and Beetle-S. All the six models possess the features of power door locks, power windows and air conditioning. Only the cars with ‘Blush edition’ have Leather seats. Power seats will no be present in the Beetle cars. Seating capacity is four and there are two doors for all Beetle cars.
A built-in CD player is available for entertainment but it does not possess a Navigation system. Beetle cars provide ABS Brake system, Stability control, Airbags (Passenger, Side, Driver) and Traction control for safety purpose. The VB cars are assembled in Mexico and are exported to India. The car’s price is not disclosed in India (Kolkata, Pune, Bangalore, Mumbai, Chennai, New Delhi, Hyderabad cities) as yet. These cities will market the VB cars in December.
