Diabetes is a hereditary disease that causes a serious medical condition. If it’s not treated properly not only it haunts us lifelong but it is life threatening too. It is stated that more than twenty million people are suffering from diabetes in U.S alone. One important stat is more than six million people are not diagnosed with diabetes. These people are unaware of diabetes syndrome that they are experiencing.

Following are the 8 symptoms of diabetes:

1. Frequent Urination:  Because of the increased level of sugar in blood, a person tends to urinate more than normal. As a result of which there will be an increase in the amount of blood that is flowing through the kidneys. It’s seen in older people, that they experience urination frequently. If the cause is natural then it can written off but if the cause is diabetes then it must be treated or else leads to kidney failure.

2. Increased Thirst: The person experiences an unquenchable thirst as the kidneys are constantly extracting water.

3. Excessive Hunger: Even though the person consumes enough food he still feels hungry as the body cells are unable to extract glucose from the food that is present around. This happens because; there is no adequate amount of insulin in the body. Hence message is sent to brain cells, this makes the person to consume once again.

4. Weight loss: As explained earlier, due to lack of insulin the body cells will be craving for energy. When they don’t get required energy they break down fat cells there by decreasing the over all weight of the body.

5. Fatigue: Due to absence of required amount of energy a diabetic person would fell tired or even exhausted after doing his routine work.

6. Depression: He/ she who is diabetic becomes depressed and irritable because of undiagnosed signs and changes that he/she experiences.

7. Eye blindness: As more blood flows through retina the eye ball swells and if untreated it leads to complete blindness.

8. Numbness: Numbness is experienced when there is a wear and tear and it takes a lot time to stop bleeding. Numbness is usually experienced in arms, hands and feet.
